Sammy Hagar,I feel your pain...I can't Drive 55

Today the journey began to pick up the pick-up! G.D. and John left Queen Creek at 3:30 AM (Yes, that's AM folks! These gentlemen truly LOVE their Studebakers!) with the empty trailer in tow. Armed with a cooler full of Weight Watcher-approved food and a Thermos of hot coffee, the boys were ready to take on the world! Well, at least southern Arizona and parts of California... This picture pretty much sums up the reason why G.D. has had to do most of the California driving. John didn't quite trust himself (or wasn't quite trusted?) to comply...

Let the journey began we shouted as we sped off at a cool 75mph.

.Unfortunatly our glee only lasted to the California border and this forward looking states 55mph for autos with trailers. Which promptly put John to sleep atthe wheel.

But all went well over the hill and dale of boring Interstate 5.

Boring that is until you get to Colinga and it's worlds largest cow patty and urine farm.

Which makes for an interesting drive as you attempt to avoid passing out in the slow lane from the methane gas cloud.

Having made such great progress we trucked on into Lodi. And after a good nights rest. Started a new day at Dee Dees family resturant.

While John read the local trivia and i admired the waitress's butt. We enjoyed a good meal.

When we inquired what was the one thinng we should see in Lodi the waitress stated it was her. (once a quick review of the butt was completed i agreed.

But John who has been lost to love, perservered and returned to more mondain questions, like winery locations. etc. So it's off to the road again and a driving attempt to sample the local village attractions.

And then on to Studebaker land.

Dota done dota dun de dun. Yes it is full studebaker loaded and prep for launch at? You guessed 4am.

After a visit to the Chocoholic chocolate factory, and a fine home cooked spagetti lunch prepared by Sister Naomi. It was off to Isleton to load up.

Then back to the nest, and sleep. With anticapation of the next part of the trip. Hopefully sans the narrow roads and Johns fondness for soft shoulders.
